Stop the badger cull

Stop The Badger Cull

In 2018 the badger cull rolled out to another 11 zones, making a total of 32 cull zones.  In those areas badgers are trapped in cages and shot or even more controversially encouraged in groups to piles of peanuts in the middle of a field where shooters will fire at them with high powered rifles.

The method of free shooting has been condemned by a government independent expert panel and the British Veterinary Association, due to the length of time it takes for the badgers to die, roughly 20% take more than 5 minutes to die from their wounds.

This site specifically represents people who are engaged in direct action, If you would like to know more of the history of the campaign, please have a look at the cached site of

If you are interested in helping out in some way to stop the killing inside your nearest badger cull zone, please contact: who will be able to help direct you to your nearest zone and group. There is something practical for people of all abilities to take part in.

Not everyone can get to a cull zone and there is a lot of campaign work you can do from home, emailing, ringing and writing to individuals, companies and organisations like the British Veterinary Association or your local MP to raise specific points on the badger cull have worked a number of times in the past and won us a number of victories, check out the news section on this site and on the “stop the cull” facebook page.
